Feelings

No one talks about feelings if they aren’t filled with joy

They forget minds are fragile, their not just some toy

Find moments of solace in days filled with chaos

Go home to no one, silence whispers “repay us”

Mind wrought with thoughts, it’s so hard to hear

blink and you’ll miss her standing there in the mirror

She’s weathered and warn her heart beats so weak

I catch glimpses of her, the old girl I seek

The chains on her mood swings have been creaking loudly

And you’d never notice she masks it quite proudly

She’s wildly successful, but all that glitters isn’t gold

One false move her house of cards starts to fold

A diaphanous shell of a girl you once knew

Bare earth and new seeds where a garden once grew

Even in darkness light always shines through

Look closely you’ll see it she’s always been you
