A Few Good Men

As above so below

Into murky water I must go

I can’t see straight my minds gone dark

A counter to your last remark

The road the hell is paved in gold

And the games you play are getting old

Your “shock and awes” and “I don’t cares”

Cause more damage than they do repairs

I’m not some toy you can shift and mold

I won’t just sit and do what I’m told

If you wanted a puppet you offered the wrong key

My sensitivities are what make me ME

I move in shadows drifting with effortless flow

Only when I’m ready will you see my fires glow

It can’t be forced in anger or it won’t be true

But I’ve never asked you to not be you

You asked me to take this place and I wanted it

So you can take me as I am and get what you get

You don’t get to choose how I show up and when

A king is powerless without a few good men
